Is the Sagrada Familia Toastmasters Club a training school or an institute?
No. The Sagrada Familia Toastmasters Club is a private non-profit organization, in which we members help each other to achieve our mutual objectives to improve as speakers and leaders, within the context of the club mission. It is essentially a volunteer activity.
None of us members receive any remuneration for participation, hence the low cost of the biannual membership fee that we pay – especially compared with the high tuition for a traditional public speaking course. (To learn more about the costs, read on.)
Is the Toastmasters program a speaking course?
Yes and No. Yes, in the sense that Toastmasters offers a complete educational program for the study and progressive development of communication and leadership skills. No, because the teaching/learning format is different from that of a traditional public speaking course.
The Toastmasters method is eminently practical. There are no students, professors, theoretical exams, or qualifying practicals in the traditional sense. The training dynamics is based on the learning-by-doing philosophy within the context of evaluation between equals and under the guidance of mentors.
More than 320.000 Toastmasters members worldwide endorse the efficiency and attractiveness of this method.
Can I attend a club meeting to see what it is about?

Attending as a guest is free of charge. Simply contact us through the Contact Form requesting to attend an upcoming meeting as a guest.

To request an invitation as a guest, contact us via the Contact Form.
Do I need to speak spanish to join the club?
Sagrada Familia Toastmasters is a bilingual Spanish-English club. Therefore, we request that our members have sufficient knowledge of these languages to be able to give speeches and conduct oral evaluations in both languages.
We do not require any written accreditation or proof of language proficiency. You will only have to confirm your knowledge of both languages with us.
If you have questions about whether you have a sufficient level in these languages, we invite you to attend a meeting for your own evaluation. In any case, we can always recommend another Toastmasters club in Barcelona that suits your needs and objectives.
How much does the membership cost?
Once the club’s executive committee approves the membership application, the applicant must pay a 69 euro biannual fee or a percentage thereof according to the month of registration, plus a 20 euro initial registration fee – which includes the manual kit. From then on, there will be a biannual membership renewal fee of 69 euros due every March and September.
